A Fantastic Start to the Year for The Bluebirds

It’s been a brilliant start to the year for us here at The Bluebirds, both personally and professionally, and we’re so excited for everything still to come in 2026.

First of all, we were absolutely thrilled to welcome Ami’s beautiful baby boy, Brayden, into the world. We’ve been seeing plenty of Ami over the past few months and making the most of lots of baby cuddles along the way! We’re happy to say that both Ami and Brayden are doing really well, and Ami is already looking forward to joining us again for selected gigs from next month.

During Ami’s maternity leave, we’ve been incredibly lucky to have had two fantastic performers stepping in with us.

Firstly, Gina’s childhood friend Sophie joined The Bluebirds for a number of performances. Sophie has spent much of her career performing in London’s West End, appearing in major productions including Thriller Live, The Bodyguard and & Juliet. Her extensive experience as a swing performer meant she took on the challenge of learning The Bluebirds’ huge repertoire brilliantly, and audiences absolutely loved her.

We were also delighted to welcome Gemma, who Sarah and Gina first met many years ago whilst performing together in an 80s production show. Gemma has an extensive theatre background and has travelled the world performing on cruise ships and international tours. She is also part of a hugely successful ABBA tribute production, and it’s been wonderful to reunite and work together again after so many years.

Performance-wise, the year has already taken us on a magical Arctic Circle cruise, an unforgettable experience - with several more exciting cruises still on the horizon. Alongside this, we’ve been busy performing at many Warner Leisure Hotels venues, as well as a wide variety of private functions and special events across the country.

As well as keeping busy with The Bluebirds, Gina and Sarah have also recently started performing in ABBA shows together, which has been a really exciting new addition to the year. Stepping into the world of sequins, harmonies and classic disco hits has been a fantastic experience, and audiences have been loving the shows so far.

We’re incredibly grateful for such a strong start to the year and are now looking forward to another jam-packed, varied and exciting summer ahead. As always, thank you to everyone who continues to support The Bluebirds, we can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings!
